Current Project - Parts Tracking Application
Motors in Motion is a company based in Worksop, North Nottinghamshire, who specialise in supplying used parts for recently built cars manufacturered by companies such as Mercedes Benz and Porsche.
The owner of the business is familliar with the location of every part currently in stock and it's price. Unfortunately, his staff are not! This results in numerous phone calls from his staff whenever he is not on site asking him for parts availability, suitability and pricing information.
Motors in Motion and LiquidChrome have set up a joint venture to address this problem by creating a generic parts tracking application which can be used not just by Motors in Motion but by any motor breakers or similar business.
The system will keep track of all cars coming in for breaking, the parts that are obtained from them, their prices, location in the warehouse, suitibility for different vehicles and photographs where required.
Motors in Motion recieve over one hundred enquiries per hour from 7am until 7pm which means that the application must provide fast, powerful and highly flexible search facilities.
The software also includes an optional, specialised Customer Management Database which provides staff with instant access to existing customer's details, billing and order history simply by entering their postcode.
The entire suite is designed to be as easy to use as possible due to the often high staff turnover rate associated with the motor breaking industry.
