Case Study: Samson Vehicle Contracts
Samson Vehicle Contracts are a company which have been supplying lease cars to the NHS for over 15 years.
They were using a database which was originaly created for use with Windows 95 and was single user only - if another member of staff needed to use the database, then the current user would have to log out!
Additionally, they needed to upgrade all of their computers to Windows XP in order to allow them to use the latest versions of Microsoft Office, view email atachments and print documents stored in the .pdf file format.
Their existing database contained information on around 30,000 vehicles and drivers. As such, they did not want to have to type the information into a new database manually!
LiquidChrome migrated the information from the old Dbase database to a new Microsoft Access database with multi-user capabilities and a customised, easy to use interface. LiquidChrome also took care of their database backup requirements by providing them with a fully automated, securely encrypted backup service which copies all of the records in the database to a remote server via the Internet on a nightly basis.
The software was so simple to install and configure that Samson Vehicle Contracts were able to install and set-up five completely new PCs and get the software up and running in well under one working day.
