Case Study: McConnells Electrical Company Limited
LiquidChrome were asked by McConnells Electrical Company Limited, a company which carries out large scale electrical and data network installations for the public and private sector across the UK, to devise a quick, easy and precise method of testing and diagnosing faults across an entire computer network infrastructure in order to speed up the installation and testing phases of their projects.
After working closely with McConnells' engineers to allow us to determine their exact needs, we produced a small but powerful application that can be easily configured via a simple user interface to perform a series of common tests and diagnostic routines, whilst maintaining the ability to add more complex and specific testing functions as the need arises.
The application was designed to be small and light enough to run on any reasonably new windows based notebook computer and to not require the use of any special external hardware, which kept the development and deployment costs to a minimum.
The 'Network Tester' is now a standard part of McConnells' installation and testing procedures.
